Maybe you’ll feel inspired to plan a destination race, make a full weekend out of 5K, or train at your peak for a marathon PR. Plus, many of the marathons on this list also offer half marathons and 5Ks, so there’s really something for every runner. From California and Wisconsin to Georgia and Vermont, plus everywhere in between, there’s a race in locations that span the U.S. While many races across the country opened back up in 2022 and allowed for pre-pandemic capacity, we added even more races to our 2023 marathon calendar. Having a race to train for keeps you lacing up, logging miles, and setting (and crushing!) goals. Tony shouts out three notable, recent finishers of the Pike Lake 10k and Half Marathon.The 2023 Runner’s World marathon calendar gives you good reason to keep those sneakers by the door. Tony is into golf and a pizza oven house project, and Mike is into gravel road cycling with a recent finish at the Le Grand Du Nord 100 mile race. Tony and Mike share a favorite route of the week with the Amity Creek and Downer Park trail systems nearby Vermilion Road in the northeastern sections of Duluth. In stark comparison to last month’s podcast, Duluth trails are open for business! In this month’s Coach’s Corner segment, Tony discusses taper tips as many look forward to Grandma’s Marathon weekend events in less than two weeks. Trail conditions are excellent, albeit pretty dry and dusty. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last Runner Standing is on June 10th, Grandma’s Marathon the following weekend, and Midnight Sun Friday night of June 23rd.
